The Role (June, July, August, 10-12 weeks)
As a Summer Law Clerk, you will:
Draft research memos, motions, and pleadings for active cases.
Observe depositions, mediations, and court hearings often the same day your work is filed.
Assist with due diligence for transactions and real estate closings.
Meet clients alongside partners and associates; sit in on strategy sessions.
Join attorney meetings with local judges, and business owners.

Requirements
A 1L or 2L in good standing, with excellent research and writing.
Curious, dependable, and comfortable juggling varied assignments.

Ties to Iowa or genuine interest in practicing here after graduation (a plus).
1) résumé, 2) unofficial law school transcript, 3) short writing sample (5-10 pages), and 4) a brief note (300 words) on what you hope to learn practicing law in Southeast Iowa.
