Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, a premier international law firm with over 1,600 attorneys and 20 offices in major financial centers worldwide, seeks a Recruiting Coordinator/Senior Coordinator for its Los Angeles headquarters. The Coordinator is responsible for coordinating many activities and processes involved in on-campus recruiting throughout each recruiting season and assist in aspects of lateral associate recruiting and hiring. Your responsibilities as a Recruiting Coordinator/Senior Coordinator will include working with the Los Angeles Recruiting Manager, Recruiting Assistant and Chief Recruiting Officer in all phases of recruiting and development efforts for new attorneys, lateral hires, transfers, and summer associates while accomplishing these and other critical functions. The Coordinator will report to the Los Angeles Recruiting Manager.
Responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with the Los Angeles Recruiting Manager and Recruiting Assistant in planning and managing the office’s overall recruitment efforts, including summer, new, and lateral associate recruiting.
- Playing an integral role in the Los Angeles office’s recruitment leadership and team.
- Acting as liaison to summer associates, law school career services offices, prospective lateral candidates and Gibson Dunn lawyers and staff to ensure smooth hiring process.
- Assisting in reviewing and selecting summer, new and lateral candidates’ applications for consideration by Hiring Committee.
- Assisting in preparing and managing summer program budget and calendar of events and collaborating with summer coordinators and hiring partner on execution.
- Coordinating and attending summer associate social and training events.
- Organize and assist in the management of the on-campus interview logistics for the office’s assigned schools and firm-wide interview teams.
- Directing all aspects of candidate visits and fall recruitment callbacks with fellow Recruiting Department members.
- Organizing follow-up receptions and other events for the office’s assigned schools.
- Maintaining recruiting records, hiring reports and statistics.
- Managing offer extension process and correspond with candidates who have offers.
- Attending the annual Hiring Committee Spring Meeting.
- Attending Los Angeles Legal Recruiting Administrators Association meetings and events.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by the Los Angeles Recruiting Manager.
- Ideal candidate must have initiative, and exhibit independent thinking and creativity.
- Excellent written and oral communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle high volume, and juggle multiple projects and tasks with great attention to detail.
- The ability to work collaboratively and openly, a great team player.
- Must consistently display good judgment and maintain confidence of personal and sensitive information.
- A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- A minimum of three (3) years of legal recruiting experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in the use of computer programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
- Experience with applicant tracking programs (i.e. ViRecruit) is preferred.
- Some event planning experience is required and experience with budgets is preferred.
