Position Summary
The Legal Operations Program Manager serves as an important operational leader within the health system’s legal department, responsible for optimizing how legal services are delivered across the organization. This role functions as a key owner of the legal operations infrastructure, including workflow, matter intake and management systems, contract lifecycle management, and outside counsel tracking and invoicing systems, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and compliance. Acting as a subject matter expert, this position establishes standards, provides guidance to other paralegals and legal staff, and drives consistency in legal processes and documentation practices. The role partners closely with attorneys, risk management, compliance, and business stakeholders to design and implement workflows that improve service delivery and mitigate risk. With a high degree of autonomy, the Legal Operations Program Manager leads process improvement initiatives and leverages data and technology to enhance performance. This position requires advanced paralegal expertise, strong operational acumen, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in related field (Required)
Experience
Eight (8) years of progressive Paralegal experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, or healthcare environment. (Required)
Demonstrated experience in legal operations, system administration (e.g., CLM), and process improvement. (Required)
Experience serving as a subject matter expert or lead resource within a legal or paralegal function. (Preferred)
Certifications
Paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited program. (Required)
Special Skills
Knowledge of healthcare regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, Stark, Anti-Kickback). (Required)
Advanced proficiency with legal technology platforms and Microsoft Office Suite. (Required)
