
Position Summary
At Stony Brook Medicine the IT Contract Analyst is responsible for the contract life cycle including but not limited to contract negotiations, modifications and all contract related activities. This position will also coordinate the contract execution process, resolve problems and assist in mitigating delays.
Duties of a IT Contract Analyst may include the following but are not limited to:
- Work alongside procurement in order to assist in the development of statements of work (SOW).
- Interact with all levels SBM IT in order to seek information about detailed specifications, justifications, vendor performance expectations and to relay status updates.
- The IT Contract Analyst will also interact with government officials in the Office of General Services, Office of NYS Attorney General and Office of the NYS Comptroller as needed to complete assignments.
- Additionally, they will interact with vendors, for negotiation of terms and conditions, pricing and coordination of services.
- The IT Contract Analyst will also have extensive interactions with SUNY Counsel so as to develop and insert necessary legal protections in contracts.
- Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four year college or university in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or similar
- Minimum of 4 years of purchasing experience to include IT related transactions in a large complex institutional agency or corporation
- Strong communication skills
- Detail oriented and organized
- Experience working with departments such as compliance, finance, AP, legal and procurement.
- The individual must possess the necessary verbal and analytical skills necessary to negotiate contract terms, resolve obstacles and develop contractual language that will meet all regulatory requirements.
- Must be able to develop, negotiate and administer formal contractual agreements for SBM IT required services, software and maintenance in a timely, thorough and accurate manner.
- Assist in the development, solicitation and awarding of bids and requests for proposals (RFPs) for IT services.
- Must be able to effectively interact with all IT staff so as to understand any current requests for information (RFIs), requests for quotations (RFQs) and requests for proposal (RFPs).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master of Business Administration degree preferred.
- ITIL experience desired, but not required
- Experience working with state organizations preferred

- Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services*
- Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
- Successfully complete a 5 panel drug screen*
- Successfully complete a Background Check investigation.
- Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).
Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.
*The hiring department will be responsible for any fee incurred for examination.
