Sophisticated, tech-forward boutique law firm seeking head of IT -- both a strategic technology leader and a hands-on operator, responsible for ensuring the firm’s technology ecosystem, from infrastructure to AI enablement, runs efficiently, securely, and seamlessly every day.
This individual will lead all IT operations, cybersecurity, and vendor management (including MSP), while also building a forward-looking roadmap for modernization, automation, and responsible AI adoption. The role requires someone who can balance strategic vision with day-to-day management, ensuring systems work flawlessly while continuously improving tools and processes that drive attorney productivity and client service excellence.
- 10+ years in IT, with at least 3+ years leading IT operations in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of:
- Cloud systems (Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS)
- Networking (VPNs, firewalls, switches, Wi-Fi management)
- DMS
- Practice management and billing systems
- Experience managing MSPs and SaaS vendors.
- Deep cybersecurity understanding (MFA, data loss prevention, encryption, zero trust).
- Practical exposure to AI tools and workflow automation platforms.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ITIL, or MSCE are a plus.
