Green | Evans-Schroeder (GES) is recruiting to fill a part-time remote immigration attorney position to manage our growing Pre-Detention Representation (PDR) caseload. Sole practitioners interested in an of counsel relationship are encouraged to apply.
Our law firm has developed a national reputation for leaning into challenging and complex immigration cases, moving the needle forward in immigration law with progressive and high-impact litigation and advocacy.
Working at GES is a rewarding experience for those who share our mission, which is to protect and advance the rights of the immigrant community. Our core values emphasize working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment; always demonstrating respect and dignity to our clients, and to ourselves; and embracing courage and creativity to overcome obstacles.
With an eye to the future, we have recently expanded our footprint from Tucson to Phoenix, and we are excited for the opportunity to serve and help more clients and their families, in Arizona, and around the world. As we continue on our journey, we remain committed to responsibly developing an organizationally healthy, diverse, and cohesive team of passionate immigration advocates.
Summary
Our law firm seeks to hire a part-time, remote immigration attorney to oversee our Pre-Detention Representation (PDR) caseload. Over the past year, our removal defense practice—particularly our detained removal work—has grown substantially as detentions have increased. Many of our clients are not currently in removal proceedings but nonetheless remain vulnerable to detention and removal, as do many individuals in the broader community who seek our counsel. In response, we have developed a carefully tailored pre-detention representation model designed to address each client’s specific circumstances. This approach seeks to protect and educate clients while giving them confidence that Arizona’s largest progressive removal defense law firm is prepared to represent them in the event of an ICE encounter.
What You'll Do
Manage a limited caseload of PDR cases appropriate for a remote attorney
Engage directly and indirectly with clients to ensure excellent communication
Work closely with one or more legal assistants to delegate and oversee the timely completion of case-related tasks
Perform case-specific analyses to idenify strategies to vigorously defend the firm’s clients against detention, findings of removability, and in support of applications for relief, including for asylum, withholding and CAT protection
When apporpriate, conduct investigations and discovery to effectively support our clients’ claims with persuasive evidence
Prepare evidentiary submissions for filing with the immigration court in anticipation of detention and removal proceedings
Effectively communicate with other attorneys and experts in the field—locally and nationally—to leverage as much knowledge and advice as possible for the benefit of our clients
Perform limited consultations with potential clients
